Library
Whangarei Boys’ High School Library and Information Centre is located in the main quad at the heart of the school. The Library has over 10,000 books catering for both the learning and leisure reading needs of a diverse range of boys from Years 9 to 13. In particular we have a large collection of Graphic Novels which prove very popular at interval and lunchtime.
Internet access is through the Library’s eight OPAC computers and ten computers in the IT Suite.
The Library is staffed by a full-time Librarian, and a part-time Teacher with Library Responsibility (TLR) and assisted by Student Librarians.
The Library runs promotions throughout the year including a Dads ‘n’ Lads Literacy evening, visits and workshops by authors and lunch time book quizzes and poetry readings. Currently we are part of an Information Literacy Focus Programme run by the National Library. |
