Sports Results for Week 1 Term 2
SS Team Sailing: Algies Bay Warkworth 21st – 28th April A hard 5 days of sailing, especially with not a lot of wind, but the team came 16th out of 32 and achieved Silver Fleet. Individually and as a team they really gave their best efforts. Well done to:
Water-skiing: At the National Tournament water-ski finals in the Waikato, during the April school holidays Mitchell Williams achieved Gold in tricks beating his competition by 1000 points.
Mitchell gained a few metres on his jump ability this year achieving over 30 metres in previous competitions.
His score of 28.0 metres was enough to secure Gold in Junior Boys. He achieved Gold overall. With his consistent increased scores Mitchell was picked for the Junior World Team 2018 in Sesena, Spain. All the best for August Mitchell.
AFL: Congratulations to Blake Williamson who has been selected for the New Zealand Under-18 team which will tour Melbourne and play two fixtures. Their tour begins next Tuesday when they head to Melbourne for games on Wednesday and Friday.

Hillary Challenge Final: Our combined WBHS and WGHS Hillary Challenge team (known as WARTS) head to Tongariro National Park this weekend. The competition runs Monday 7th May till Friday 11th May Our combined team this year comprises:
Campbell Jones, Johnny Wilson, Mika Hill, Heath Mitchell, Renee Topp, Courtney Crum, Mia Gordon and Abbey Venmore
This is the 18th year for the annual outdoor challenge that sees the 12 best school teams compete for five long days in a series of events including orienteering/rogaining, trail running, mountain biking, kayaking/rafting, high ropes and various other team orientated problem-solving challenges. Each team is made up of 4 female and 4 male.
